Guild Wars: Eye of the North went live this morning at 12 AM. We had a launch party here at ArenaNet, and I must say, there’s something comedic about my first launch party being for a game I didn’t contribute to!
There was a lot of energy and excitement in the air, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that enthusiasm gets channeled into Guild Wars 2.
I had a lot of fun last night, due partially to the fact that I got to play Street Fighter

I’d post pictures, but I kept forgetting to bring my camera around (-_-) So instead, here’s a summary of my Street Fighter escapades today!

Yea, that’s me losing. Repeatedly.
I haven’t really done much in the actual city of Seattle since I moved here, but I finally got a chance to head into the city this past weekend. A family friend had an interview today, so we checked out the Pike’s Market area and spent some time at the waterfront.
My former lead from Mythic was in town for PAX, and we managed to spend an absurd amount of time playing Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike yesterday. After playing with the console version, we decided to head downtown…for more Street Fighter
We were very disappointed to see the machine shut down and missing a joystick!!! Fortunately we came back after dinner, and the machine was up and running with a new stick, so we ended up playing even more Street Fighter. I need more practice ><
This was the first time I’ve ever been downtown, and I must say, it was pretty nice. The convention center was pretty huge, and I’ve never seen so many gamers in one area (PAX had just closed down by the time we got there).
Well, it’s good to know there’s an actual arcade around with a 3rd Strike machine, so at least I have somewhere to go whenever I’m itching to get a good thrashing.

I must note that I know absolutely nothing about photography. Watch how I abuse the manual blur focus feature on my camera!

Pictures were taken around the Bellevue Square area, Chism Beach Park, Etanai Beach Park, and the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures not worth posting

I never imagined I’d be setting up a blog, but here I am…The title is a bit misleading as I’m living and working in Bellevue, not Seattle, but I figured this sounded catchier
I flew in last Wednesday night, and have spent the last few days trying to get settled in. It’s been a bit awkward, since my mind still hasn’t quite wrapped itself around the idea that I’m now living on the opposite side of the country. I grew up in Northern Virginia, and haven’t spent much time out of state except for brief (not to mention infrequent) vacations trips.
Yesterday was my first day as a Character Artist at ArenaNet. It’ll be a while before I get used to how things are done here, but hopefully it won’t take too long to adjust. I had a lot of good times with the guys back at Mythic, but I’m sure there’s more fun to be had here.
The weather so far has been great; it’s a lot cooler than it is back in Fairfax. I didn’t expect to need my jacket so soon, but it can get a bit nippy in the morning and evenings.
I’ve been putting off posting until I got some pictures up, but I’ll post some pictures soon
Hello Washington! Goodbye Virginia!
