Snowed-in Seattle

December 25th, 2008 . by admin

We’ve had a lot of snow this past week.  From what I’ve been told, the area hasn’t seen this much snow in the past 12 or 13 years.  Driving around here has been pretty dangerous since the Seattle area isn’t very well prepared for snow.

Silent Hill…My Room

September 19th, 2007 . by admin

I came home to a rather disturbing sight yesterday…

SilentHillish

I kind of freaked out because it was a very Silent Hill-ish moment. The picture didn’t turn out so great, but it looked rust was creeping over my window…and then I remembered that they were painting my apartment building today! Silly me.

There was a nice view outside the balcony though:

Snoqualmie and Mount Rainier

Snoqualmie

My brother and I went out to Snoqualmie and Mount Rainier this weekend. There’s some breathtaking scenery out here in Washington…I just wish I was better at taking pictures :P I took a ton of photographs, but most of it really isn’t worth looking at.

On the way to Rainier, we stopped by Lake Alder. It’s a pretty place to just hang out, have lunch, and maybe go for a swim.

We barely scratched the surface of Mount Rainier. There’s still so much more to see, trails to hike, and pictures to take :P It’s definitely worth going to a multiple times.

Pictures!

I must note that I know absolutely nothing about photography. Watch how I abuse the manual blur focus feature on my camera!

Pictures were taken around the Bellevue Square area, Chism Beach Park, Etanai Beach Park, and the Bellevue Botanical Garden.  Needless to say, I took a lot of pictures not worth posting :P

Starting Anew

August 22nd, 2007 . by admin

I never imagined I’d be setting up a blog, but here I am…The title is a bit misleading as I’m living and working in Bellevue, not Seattle, but I figured this sounded catchier :P

I flew in last Wednesday night, and have spent the last few days trying to get settled in. It’s been a bit awkward, since my mind still hasn’t quite wrapped itself around the idea that I’m now living on the opposite side of the country. I grew up in Northern Virginia, and haven’t spent much time out of state except for brief (not to mention infrequent) vacations trips.

Yesterday was my first day as a Character Artist at ArenaNet. It’ll be a while before I get used to how things are done here, but hopefully it won’t take too long to adjust. I had a lot of good times with the guys back at Mythic, but I’m sure there’s more fun to be had here.

The weather so far has been great; it’s a lot cooler than it is back in Fairfax. I didn’t expect to need my jacket so soon, but it can get a bit nippy in the morning and evenings.

I’ve been putting off posting until I got some pictures up, but I’ll post some pictures soon :P

Hello Washington! Goodbye Virginia!
